We are trained and experienced in current useful trends in psychotherapy to work with trauma, addictions, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and other mental health problems.
There is ample evidence to indicate that psychotherapy can work more effectively, and the results will last longer than medication. Psychotherapy focuses on achieving change in the personality or the self with the use of therapy. Many people indicate some of their personality difficulties appear repetitive in that similar issues are repeating within their lives.
Psychotherapy helps people to achieve a better understanding of themselves and change long-standing patterns of disruptive behavior. We will seek causes of today’s problems such as depression and anxiety to enable clients to overcome and learn to get on with their lives in spite of these challenges.
We coach towards developing goals and plans for both long term and short term to aid recovery. At times people can lose their way in life, career, or relationships through tragedies, life problems, marital issues, or not being taught correctly as children. We find many people that are stuck, addicted, or confused within their life to be lacking goals or plans to achieve recovery.
Marital therapy is similar to raising children to be emotionally healthy. People that are not getting along because of communication problems but want more from their relationship must be willing to change. A person needs to feel safe in a relationship, to be stress-free and if combined with a sense of equality, and trust both parties can talk openly to overcome their differences.
